Support counsel for 6 municipalities. Increased responsibilities over the years which culminated in becoming the firms representative as contract City Attorney for Middlesands, TX.
City of Middlesands, TX 1976-1982
City Attorney. Oversaw a staff of 3 attorneys plus support staff. Responsibilities included counsel to City Council and staff. Oversaw the creation of all ordinances. Provided in-house counsel on municipal bond financing, litigation and code enforcement actions.
Rancho Buena, CA 1982-1992
City Attorney. Oversaw a staff of 6 attorneys plus support staff providing full service legal support without the need for outside contract counsel. Lead negotiator for the development of the Rancho Buena International Airport and all legal work related to the raising of $1.2 billion in municipal bond financing for the facility.
Prairie, TX 1992-2001
City Attorney. Oversaw a staff of 8 attorneys plus support staff providing full service legal support without the need for outside contract counsel having reduced the city’s need for outside counsel from over $3.2 million per year. Successfully represented the Prairie, TX at the US Supreme Court in the case of Prairie, TX v. Mitchell Development Corporation.
